I filled out a prompt! (post mortem?)

I think this is the first time I've actually filled someone's prompt. It is a story about Tiki and Caeda. archiveofourown.org/works/It's posted on AO3 right now. Read the tags and the warning, it might be a lot.

This is the prompt. It was for Rarest of Rarepairs, which I have quite a few of, so the entire event is a great opportunity. This prompt was for an unusual Omegaverse dynamic. I am not into this genre, so I didn't know much about what was unusual for it. I did a small bit of research. My first idea was something probably more complicated than needed for a one shot. Since the alpha/beta/omega dynamics are based on captive unrelated wolf behavior, I thought of one of the ladies coming out of that society, into a different one where the dynamic is more like wild wolf pack behaviors.

I feel like, this is something that involves a lot of deeper thought than what I wanted to write (which was always Tiki raping Caeda (⸝⸝๑ ̫ ๑⸝⸝⸝) ) and also deeper interest in the genre, which was only passive for me, and still is. So I stalled on writing it because I couldn't really think of any words. Eventually I just made it more simplistic: omega of one species dominating alpha of a different species. Easier to work with for me, as this can be explained by dragons being larger and tougher than humans. Then prose came together more easily.

I am fairly brown with my prose (which you can tell from the word counts of my stories), probably because I prefer things to be implied or explained bluntly or simply. Still I like to focus on feelings and "shocking" emotion. The kind that affects you physically. Which sex is great for, and that's why I like reading and writing it. Fortunately I am... OK at writing this. The person who prompted enjoyed the story, describing the hurt and pain as "visceral", which makes me really happy to hear. I think that's my aim in this work.

I am happy to be the fourth writer in this relationship tag. I doubt anyone would have written something like this for this pair, but I sure like making things literally nobody else wants. I think they have a lot of potential that people aren't tapping into enough, in English at least.

I have other prompts for Rarest of Rarepairs that I want to fill. But those are better for artwork. However, I have a prompt from a different list I want to fill... Kind of, because the prompt is on a dead kink meme for Fire Emblem. I just loved the idea so much I HAD to make it exist. Whenever I make that happen, I'll put it here too. Maybe then the kinkmeme will be revived!

I have decided to begin using Dreamwidth more in order to participate in fandom events and kinkmemes. I don't think my personal journal will have much on it... Maybe I could use it like a real journal or blog? Image posting is too tedious.
